India Thursday reported as many as 3,79,257 new COVID-19 cases with 3,645 fatalities (1.12 pc). At the same time, the country also saw 2,69,507 discharges in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. The ministry updates the data every morning at 8 am.
The active cases have risen to 30,84,814 comprising 16.55 % of the total infections. On Wednesday, 14 states and union territories recorded their highest single-day spike in infection. Among the states, Karnataka and Kerala reported 39,047 and 35,103 cases respectively, while West Bengal ( 17,207), Tamil Nadu (16,665), Rajasthan (16,613), Andhra Pradesh (14,669) Bihar (13,374), Haryana (12,444) figured the states with the highest rise in fresh cases.
