250 Farmer Suicide Families: Public Hearing followed by Dharna
Farmer suicides are continuing in Telangana, and are back in public view since the paddy crisis. For the first time, 250 Farmer Suicide affected families of Telangana are coming to Hyderabad for a Public Hearing being organized by Rythu Swarajya Vedika on December 16, 2021.
The Public Hearing will be followed by a Dharna where the families will raise their demands and many organizations and leaders will join and speak in solidarity.
More than 7000 farmers have committed suicide in Telangana since 2014, and they are still continuing with 2-4 farmer suicides being reported every day. Only 1600 have received ex gratia from government and since 2018, the govt stopped implementing the G.O.194/173 for ex-gratia.
