It is unfortunate and sad that losing nine personnel of TSGENCO and a private company of Hyderabad in an unprecedented fire mishap at the Srisailam Left Bank Power Station (SLBP) in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana in the late night of Thursday.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of bereaved. We offer the families our thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes during this dark time in their life. We pray that the injured make a full and speedy recovery. The engineers’ heroic fight continued till their lost breath to protect the Power House which is one of the prestigious power projects.
The Congress party saluting the departed soul for their courage. The Congress party demanded the Telangana government to extend all possible support to the families of bereaved.
The AICC strongly condemned the action of the state government in arresting the Congress leader and MP A Revanth Reddy, Former MP Dr. Mallu Ravi while they were on their way to visit the families of the deceased and the accident place on Saturday near Srisailam.
It is the most undemocratic and high-handed act of the TRS government. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has made a habit of suppressing the voices of the opposition parties by using the police as a tool.
It is shameful on the part of police acting as puppets on tune with the ruling party in detaining the opposition party leaders. The AICC is demanding the immediate release of the Congress leaders and allow them to visit the families of dead and accident spot.
(Dr Mallu Ravi is a senior T-Congress leader and former MP from Telangana)
