ఈ రోజు ఒక వైపు మహాత్ముడి 150 జయంతి. మరొక వైపు సైరా సుడిగాలి. రెండు అంశాలు భారత జాతికి,స్వాంత్య్ర కాంక్షకు ప్రతిరూపాలే. రెండు అంశాలు ఈ రోజు ఆ సేతు హిమాచలం చర్చకు వచ్చాయి. భారతీయ విలువలతో స్వాతంత్య్ర పోరాటం నడిపి విజయవంతమయిన బాపూజీ ఆదర్శాలు ఇప్పటికీ శిరోధ్యారాలే నని ప్రపంచ మేధావులంతా కీర్తిస్తుంటే, భారతీయ స్వాతంత్య్ర చరిత్రకు ‘సైరా’ ఒక కొత్త వీరుని అధ్యాయాన్ని జోడించింది.
వూరించి వూరించి చివరకు ఈరోజు విడుదలయిన మెగా స్టార్ చిరంజీవి మెగా మూవీ సైరా నరసింహారెడ్డి చిత్రం సుడిగాలి సృష్టించింది. బ్రిటిష్ వాళ్లకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడి, అశువులు బాసిన కర్నూలు జిల్లాకు చెందిన యోధుడు ఉయ్యాల వాడ నరసింహారెడ్డి. ఈ రోజు పలు భాషల్లో విడుదలయని ఈ చిత్ర ఆయన బయోపిక్ కాదని చెప్పేందుకు దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి చిత్రాన్ని భారీ డిస్ క్లెయిమర్ తో ప్రారంభించారు. ఉయ్యాల వాడ నరసింహారెడ్డి జీవితాన్ని ఆధారం చేసుకుని తీసిన చిత్రంమని ప్రకటించడంతో సినిమాలో ఆయన ఎంత స్వచ్ఛ తీసుకున్నారో అర్థమవుతుంది. మొత్తానికి ఎక్కడో మారుమూలపల్లెగీతాలకు పరిమితమయిన తెలుగు యోధుడిని భారతదేశానికికంతటికి పరిచయం చేయడంలో విజయవంతమయ్యారని అనేక రివ్యూలు చిత్రాన్ని కీర్తించాయి.
కనివిని ఎరుగని రీతిలో చిరంజీవి ఈ చిత్రంలో నటించారని, వూహించలేనంత శక్తివంతంగా నరసింహారెడ్డిపాత్రని పోషించారని అగ్రశ్రేణి సమీక్షకులంతా ఏకాభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ముఖ్యంగా చిరంజీవి ఎమోషన ల్ సీన్స్ చాలా ప్రస్తావనకు వచ్చాయి. నాటకీయతను, భావోద్వేగాలను గొప్పగా చిత్రీకరించారని అంతా ప్రశసించారు.

ఆరు ప‌దుల వ‌య‌సులో ఓ యాక్షన్ పార్ట్ ఉన్న స్వాతంత్య్రోద్య‌మ నాయ‌కుడి సినిమాలో న‌టించ‌డం అంత సుల‌భం కాదు. కానీ మెగాస్టార్ చిరంజీవి ఉయ్యాలవాడ నరసింహారెడ్డి పాత్రలో అద్భుతంగా న‌టించాడు. ఆయన లుక్ చ‌క్క‌గా స‌రిపోయింది. ఇక యాక్షన్ పార్ట్‌లో చిరు చేసిన స్టంట్స్ చూసి ఆశ్చ‌ర్య‌పోవాల్సిందే. ఇక ఎమోష‌న‌ల్ సీన్స్‌నూ అద్భుతంగా పండించాడు. ముఖ్యంగా క్లైమాక్స్ సన్నివేశంలో చిరు నటన అభినంద‌నీయం.

చిరంజీవి 150 చిత్రాల అనుభవం ఎలాంటిదో ‘సైరా’లొ మనకు కనబడుతుంది.చిరు ఆహార్యం, నటన ప్రధాన ఆకర్షణ. గురువు గోసాయి వెంకన్నగా అమితాబ్ పాత్ర హుందాగా ఉంది. దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి తీసుకున్న ప్రతిజాగ్రత్త తెరమీద కనిపిస్తుంది. విజువండర్ గా తీర్చి దిద్దాడు.

సైరాలో మెగాస్టార్ చిరంజీవి కన్నా ఉయ్యాలవాడ నరసింహారెడ్డే కనిపించాడు. ఇమేజ్‌ జోలికి పోకుండా పాత్రలో ఉన్నగంభీరం ఎక్కడా మిస్‌ కాకుండా చిరంజీవీ అద్భుతంగా నటించారు. యాక్షన్ సీన్స్‌లో అయితే మెగాస్టార్ అందర్నీ ఆశ్చర్యపరుస్తారు. సినిమా అంతా భారీ తారాగణంతో, ప్రతీ సీన్‌ నిండుగా ఉన్నా.. కళ్లన్నీ నరసింహారెడ్డి మీదే ఉండేలా నటించారు. సినిమా అంతా తన భుజాలమీదే మోశాడు.

Director Surender Reddy takes the cinematic liberty of equating Narasimha Reddy to Narasimha avatar in a key episode where he takes down a British officer. This entire sequence speaks of the skilful action choreography and execution….Chiranjeevi leads from the front, showing that he isn’t done yet and is still a superstar. It’s one of his memorable performances too.

#SyeRaa is a perfect gift from Charan to his dad. Screenplay in second half is very good. It’s like watching a Hollywood war film (yet looks genuine in Telugu). The twists in second half are good and final episode is superb (2/3)

…Chiranjeevi plays his character with some maturity. Even as his character is built up as a mythological hero, he presents his character as a single-minded warrior, who doesn’t buy into his legend. And the huge star cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep, Nayanthara are all sacrificed at the altar of myth-building. Tamannaah gets to shine in a few moments even as she firmly stays in the shadow of Chiranjeevi.

The film doesn’t disappoint in terms of scale and living up to the hype. At the same time, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is no Baahubali, but it’s still a film that accomplishes a lot more than anyone could imagine, and a lot of credit for that must go to Chiranjeevi, who is fantastic in the titular character. The film relies heavily on a big war sequence in the second half but unfortunately it lacks finesse and ends up as a stretch that could’ve been so much better. Amidst all this, when the focus remains on Chiranjeevi and his heroism, you’re amazed by the sheer energy he brings to the character at his age.
