కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం భారతదేశంలోని 111 నగరాలకు ర్యాంకింగ్ ప్రకటించింది. ఇందులో టాప్ టెన్ లో తెలుగు నగరాలు లేవు. నెంబర్ వన్ ర్యాంక్ అంటే మోస్ట్ లివబల్ సిటి (Most Livable City)గుర్తింపు బెంగుళూరు (స్కోర్ 66.70) కు వచ్చింది.

Bengaluru emerged as the top performer in the Million+ category, followed by Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Surat, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Indore, and Greater Mumbai. In the Less than Million category, Shimla was ranked the highest in ease of living, followed by Bhubaneshwar, Silvassa, Kakinada, Salem, Vellore, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Davangere, and Tiruchirappalli అని మంత్రి ప్రకటించారు.
మొదటి 9 స్థానాలలో పుణే (66.27), అహ్మదాబాద్ (64.87) , చెన్నై(62.61), సూరత్ (61.73), నవి ముంబై (61.60), కొయంబత్తూరు (59.72) వడోదర (59.24), ఇండోర్ (58.58),గ్రేటర్ ముంబై (58.23)లు ఉన్నాయి.
ప్రభుత్వాలు చేపట్టే పట్టణాభివృద్ధి పథకాల వల్ల ప్రజాజీవితంలో ఎలాంటి గుణాత్మక మార్పు (quality of life) వచ్చిందనే అంశాన్ని తీసుకుని ఈజ్ అప్ లివింగ్ ర్యాంకులు ప్రకటించారు. ఇందులో హైదరాబాద్ లేకపోవడం టిర్ ఎస్ కు కొంచెం దెబ్బే. ఇంత ప్రచారం తర్వాత హైదరాబాద్ లేక పోవడం, హైదరాబాద్ కు మోస్ట్ లివబుల్ సిటి హోదా దక్కకపోవడం ఆలోచించాల్సిన విషయమే. ఈ మధ్య వచ్చిన వరదల బీభత్సరం దీనిని దెబ్బతీసిందా
The Ease of Living Index (EoLI) is an assessment tool that evaluates the quality of life and the impact of various initiatives for urban development. It provides a comprehensive understanding of participating cities across India based on the quality of life, the economic-ability of a city, and its sustainability and resilience. The assessment also incorporates the residents’ view on the services provided by city administration through a Citizen Perception Survey.
ఈజ్ అఫ్ లివింగ్ ఇండెక్స్ (EoLI 2020)ను విద్య, ఆరోగ్యం, హౌసింగ్, రవాణ, భద్రత,వినోదం, ఆర్థికాభివృద్ది, ఆర్థికావకాశాలు, ఇంధనవాడకం, విపత్తులనుంచి కోలుకునే ఏర్పాటు తదితర వంటి 13 అంశాలలో ఈ నగరాల పనితీరును పరిశీలించి నిర్ణయించారు.వీటికి 70 శాతం వైటేజీ ఉంటే మిగతా 30 శాతాన్నిసిటిజన్ పర్సెప్షన్ సర్వే (Citizen perception surey)కి కేటాయించారు.
The EoLI 2020 Index… examines the outcomes that lead to existing living conditions through pillars of Quality of Life, Economic Ability, Sustainability, spanning across 13 categories of -Education, Health, Housing and Shelter, WASH and SWM, Mobility, Safety and Security, Recreation, Level of Economic Development, Economic Opportunities, Environment, Green Spaces, and Buildings, Energy Consumption, and City Resilience, that account for 70% of the overall outcome.
ఇక పదిలక్షల లోపు జనాభాకు సంబంధించి మంచి హోదా పొందిన నగరాలలో సిమ్లా (స్కోర్ 60.90) నెంబర్ వన్ గా నిలబడింది. ఈ జాబితాలోకి ఒక తెలుగు పట్టణం రావడం విశేషం. మిగతా తొమ్మది పట్టణాలు: భువనేశ్వర్ (59.85), సిల్వస్సా (58.43), కాకినాడ (56.84), సేలం ( 56.40),వెల్లూరు 956.38), గాంధీనగర్ (56.25) గురుగ్రామ్ (56.00), దావణగేరే (55.25).
ఇక మునిసిపాలిటిలకు సంబంధించి కూడా హైదరాబాద్ కు గుర్తింపు రాలేదు. పదిలక్షల కంటే ఎక్కువ జనాభా ఉన్న నగరాలలో ఇండో ర్ నెంబర్ వన్ గా నిలబడింది. తర్వాతి స్థానాలు: సూరత్, భోపాల్, పింప్రిచించ్వాడ్, ఫుణే, అహ్మదాబాద్, రాయ్ పూర్, గ్రేటర్ ముంబై, విశాఖపట్టణం, వడోదర లు ఉన్నాయి. ఇక పదిలక్షల కంటే తక్కువ జనాభా ఉన్న నగరాలలో నెంబర్ వన్ గా న్యూఢిల్లి నిలబడింది. తర్వాతి స్థానం తిరుపతిది. ఇక మిగతా స్థానాల్లో గాంధీనగర్, కర్నాల్, సేలం, తిరుపూర్, బిలాస్ పూర్, ఉదయ్ పూర్, ఝాన్సీ, తిరునల్వేలీ, ఉన్నాయి.
