COVID Cases Decreasing in Siddipet: Dist. Collector

The COVID cases reported from Siddipet have come down considerably during the past 6 days. Thanks to the concerted efforts made by the entire district administration with the help of local elected members and SHG women groups. District Collector informed this to AIR and Doordarshan today.
Siddipet Collector P Venkatramireddy flagged off the mobile video van of Press Information Bureau and Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Siddipet today. The video publicity van will take awareness programs to the grassroots level for creating greater awareness about measures to prevent spread of coronavirus. The government of India has identified the districts across the country; where COVID cases are more with a view to creating greater awareness among people to prevent the spread of the Virus. In Telangana, besides Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Ranagareddy, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Siddipet, Sangareddy and Waranagal Urban have a high number of cases COVID for many days.
The District Collector further informed that intensified testing, following up with each COVID positive person, and creating confidence among the community paid well in bringing down the numbers in the district. He said the administration especially medical and health officials, revenue and SHGs have been given the responsibility of a few villages and wards in Siddipet to talk to the COVID patients’ family members every day. He said the positive percentage has come down from 16-17 percent a week ago to a single digit now.
