Hyderabad: US President Donald Trump’s policies and attitude may be facing stiff resistance from several people in his country and elsewhere in the world, but a small village in India’s Telangana state has a staunch supporter of the Republican.
Bussa Krishna, a resident of Janagaon district’s Konne village, is impressed by the US President’s firm decisions on protecting the interests of his country. The 31-year-old, who likes to be called Krish, treats Trump next to God.
“Every day, I worship him after worshipping my favourite Gods”, says Krishna, who took to farming after leaving high school.
Last month, Krishna performed milk bath (Abhishekam) on Trump’s photo at his house and posted the video on his Facebook page. TThe video got many views and shares, bringing it to the notice of his hero, Trump. A purported tweet by Trump described Krish as his close friend and wishes to meet him soon. But, the tweet is no longer visible in Trump’s official Twitter handle.
He had also performed blood bath and water bath for Trump’s photos. His Facebook page has Trump in the background picture.
“He is a leader with guts to do what he thinks is good for his country. Why the leader of a country should be bothered about the feelings of other countries. He has to deliver what the people of his country expect of him,” asserted Krishna, when asked about protests Trump faces from fellow countries.
“Opposition to any leader in his own country is common in a democracy,” he added on the resentment that Trump faces from some people in the US.
The 31-year-old prays that India and America should strengthen their bond and be the strongest combine in the world. “The two flags should fly high,” he wishes.
He is now looking forward to the day when he can meet Trump at White House.
“I will ask him to treat Indians living in the US well,” said Krishna, who has no relatives or friends living in America. “Except Trump, I don’t have any known person in America,” he laughs.
However, Krish refused to answer about his views on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I should not say,” he said, adding that, “I love our Chief Minister KCR (K Chandrasekhara Rao).
