Hyderabad: Telangana BJP spokesperson A Rakesh Reddy took strong objection to the Time magazine for carrying a story on Prime Minister Modi with bad intent.
He emphasised that the story, written by a Pakistan origin American author in the upcoming issue of Time was nothing but an assault on India.
The special story, with a caricature of PM Modi on cover page was only meant to tranish the image of the Prime Minister when the nation is getting ready for last leg of general elections , Reddy said while addressing the media Saturday.
The timing of the story and the way PM’s personality was dipicted, amply demonstate the ulterior motive of the magazine, he added.
“We strongly believe there is a conspiracy behind Time magazine choosing the topic. It is clear that the story has targeted a particular phase of election. Instead of codemning the story written against India’s Prime Minister the Congress chose to celebrate the new story. The way Congress lapped up the story lends credence to the fact that there is a conspiracy behind the story,” Rakesh said.
Stating that Narendra Modi’s leadership doesn’t require certification from anybody leave alone Time magazine, Rakesh Reddy said the US maganize should not forget how President Obama lauded Modi as “reformer in chief” in 2015 in a letter written to the magazine.
The Time issue with Modi on cover page with a title Divider in Chief is hitting the stands on May 20,2019.
