NATIONAL
1. PM Modi Reviews Projects Worth ₹ 50,000 Crore At “Pragati” Meeting :. “Pragati” is an ICT-based multi-modal platform for pro-active governance and a timely implementation of projects, involving the Centre and the state governments.
2. Cabinet has approved continuation of Centrally Sponsored National Scheme for PM POSHAN in Schools for five more years till 2025-26 with a financial outlay of 54,062 crore rupees from the Central Government and 31,733 crore from State Governments and UT administrations. This will cover 11.80 crore children studying in 11.20 lakh schools.
3. The Cabinet has also approved continuation of the National Export Insurance Account (NEIA) scheme and infusion of 1,650 crore Grant-in-Aid over five years. Capital infusion in NEIA Trust will help tap the huge potential of project exports in focus market.
4. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has instructed airlines and air navigation service providers to test their flight crew members and air traffic controllers for drugs, including cannabis and cocaine. The drug tests for specified aviation workers will begin from January 31 next year.
5. The remnants of Cyclone Gulab are likely to enter the Arabian Sea on Sep 30 and intensify into a cyclonic storm a day later and then move towards Pakistan, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Many areas in Gujarat are likely to receive rainfall due to the remnants of Cyclone Gulab.
6. Andhra Pradesh : CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch Clean Andhra Pradesh (CLAP) at Vijayawada on October 2 and release the second tranche of Aasara scheme on October 7.
7. Chandigarh* : A day after resigning as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday stated that he cannot compromise with his ethics, moral authority and pointed out that he didn’t want a “repeat of a system of tainted leaders and officers in the state”.
8. Delhi : Kapil Sibal, who was one of the 23 leaders who wrote a letter to the party high command demanding a slew of organizational reforms last year, has questioned the leadership over the crisis in Punjab Congress while demanding sweeping changes in the party. The 23 leaders want the election to be conducted to elect the next President of the party.
9. The Karnataka High Court on 29 Sep cleared the way for the hanging of serial killer and rapist Umesh Reddy who sexually assaulted, robbed and murdered several women in different parts of the country, and also broke out of prison three times.

3. The defence ministry said it has decided to enhance the income criteria for grant of family pension to children and siblings suffering from mental or physical disability. At present, a disabled child or sibling of a deceased pensioner is eligible for family pension.
4. Indian and the Royal Australian Navy on Wednesday signed a ”Terms of Reference for the conduct of Navy-to-Navy talks between the two countries.

Candidates must have minimum of 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination).
The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State.

1. American Airlines (AAL) announced a code-sharing agreement with India’s largest airline IndiGo on 28 Sep, with the U.S. airline gearing up to launch new flights between the two countries.

3. World’s great philanthropist Bill Gates has congratulated Prime minister Narendra Modi on the national launch of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Mr Gates said the digital health infrastructure will help ensure equitable, accessible health care delivery and accelerate progress on India’s health goals.
4. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said : the Dubai Expo 2020 will further strengthen India-UAE relations especially exports.
5. The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has written to Indian aviation regulator DGCA to resume commercial flights between the countries. The last commercial flight between India and Afghanistan was operated by Air India on Kabul-Delhi route on August 15, the day Kabul fell to the Taliban. Afghanistan airspace was declared “uncontrolled” by the CAA on August 16.

4. Jihadist group killed six Sudanese intelligence officers. The government had blamed the attack on militants from the Islamic State (IS) group. But a jihadist group calling itself the Movement for Preaching and Combat said it had killed the Sudanese officers and denied any links with IS.
5. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have asked the United States to stop operating drones in Afghan airspace, Terming the US move a breach of national security, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid asked all the nations to act in accordance with mutual obligations to prevent consequences.
6. North Korea has reportedly fired a short-range missile towards the sea off its east coast. Earlier this month Pyongyang has also test-fired both ballistic and cruise missiles. The test occurred as North Korea’s ambassador said at the UN that no-one could deny Pyongyang’s right to self-defence and to test weapons.
