A 14-Day lockdown has been announced in Odisha.
The lockdown will commence on May 5 and end on May 19.
The state government stated that lockdown is the only option to break the chain of transmission of coronavirus. The state has reported 10,413 infections yesterday.
The decision was taken in a meeting chief minister Naveen Patnaik held with the officials this monring.
“ We are in the midst of a severe crisis in the country. Many states are metro cities are witnessing a huge chain strain on the healthcare system. We need to be extremely cautious and alert in ensuring all measures to manage the situation in the state,” the CM said after the meeting.
