Assembly Polls: Counting Update at 10.30 am
In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami is leading in the Edappadi constituency with 1,084 votes, while DMK supremo and Chief Ministerial candidate MK Stalin is leading in the Kolathur constituency with 6,395 votes. Other star candidates such as deputy CM O Panneerselvam (Bodinayakanur constituency) and DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin (Chepauk) are also leading. DMK has crossed the halfway mark in Tamil Nadu. A party needs 118 seats in the 234-seat house to form the government.
In West Bengal, in a curious development Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is trailing in Nandigram by 4,957 votes to the BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari after the completion of the second round of voting, even as the TMC is leading in more seats than the BJP. According to media reports TMC is leading in 142 seats and the BJP in 116 at 10.30 am.
