While Kerala has become the first state that reported nil corona positive cases on Friday, Telangana is a bit confused over the origin of 22 corona cases in the state.
For the first time since the day COVID-19 infection was confirmed not a single positive case was reported on Friday from Kerala.
Nine persons, however, recovered from the infection while Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, and Wayanadu districts became coronavirus free on Friday. The number of active cases as on Friday is just 102.
However, the state of Telangana is clueless about the origins of 22 corona positive cases. These patients have no travel history and the patients too have no clarity as to how they got infected. According to state health minister Etela Rajender, the contracting team has also been not able to find the accurate source of the infection.
Talking to media, the health minister quick to add that there was no community transmission in the state. “There were only six new cases on Friday and the total number of cases rose to 1044. The number of active cases stands at 552 following the discharging of 22 patients from the hospital.
Stating that 90 percent of the corona cases had their origin in the Markaz cluster, the minister said the state government was trying to ascertain the origin of these 22 cases.
He blamed the centre for the spread of corona across the country. The centre was not aware of the danger lurking in the Markaz returnees until the Telangana government alerted it. “ Had we not acted swiftly to identify the Markaz returnees and their family members in March, Hyderabad would have become corona hotspot on a par with Kurnool, Guntur, and Mumbai,” Rajender said.
