New York state, and especially New York City, is facing an unprecedented public health crisis in the United State. According to media reports, one in every two Americans infected by novel coronavirus is from New York city which reported 5,085 new cases on Monday taking the total to 20,875.

According to the report hospitals across the New York region are reporting a surge of coronavirus patients and a looming shortage of critical supplies like ventilators and masks.
