Hyderabad, May 27: AICC secretary and former Rajyasabha MP V Hanumantha Rao demanded that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should immediately visit Hajipur village and console the victims of serial killer Srinivas Reddy.
He deplored that the government had not announced any ex-gratia to the families.
Addressing a press conference here Monday, Rao set a week deadline for chief minister KCR to visit the village to console victims’ families and announce ex-gratia.
He warned that he would visit the village and sit on a day-long Deeksha if CM KCR fails to visit the village.
Rao, who visited the village once, alleged that families of victims of Srinivas Reddy had not got justice so far.
V Hanumantha Rao on May 1, 2019, visited the families of the girls, who fell victim to the serial killer Srinivas Reddy demanded Rs 20 lakh exgratia to each family.
Rao also handed over Rs 10,000 financial assistance to the families.
Stating that how former union minister Smriti Irani rushed to the Amethi when one of her followers died, and participated in the final rites, VH said KCR had no time to visit the families of tthe students, who committed suicide following marks bungling by Board of Intermediate Education (BIE).
He said people of Telangana were watching him closely and recent results of Lok Sabha elections were an indication to the dip in his popularity in the state.
