In a curious turn, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received support to his move to provide 10 pc quota for under privileged among the upper castes. Former Prime Minister and patriarch of Janata Dal (Secular) HD Deve Gowda supported the move and said his party had always stood for betterment of poor among upper castes. JD (S)partner in the Karnataka government Congress dubbed the quite predictable move as politically motivated, Deve Gowda tweeted his support to the move, “Janata Dal (Secular) supports the 10 pc reservation in jobs and educational institutions for economically weaker sections of the upper castes. We have always stood for, and will continue to stand for the betterment of the under privileged and weaker sections of the society.”
