A double tragedy struck the family of Arumilli Veera venkatasatyanarayana(32) of Siddantam in Penugonda of West Godavari district. Satyanarayana is an employee of Infosys, Hyderabad. He and his sister-in-law Gullapalli Venkata Madhuri were killed in a road accident on Monday while on their way home in East Godavari district from Hyderabad to attend the funeral of his mother. The accident occurred when the cab, in which they were travelling, crashed into the truck in front of it on the National Highway-65 near Kodad. Satyanarayana’s wife, who is a pregnant, and the driver of the cab, however, escaped with minor injuries, reported Times of India.
The fatal accident occurred when Satyanarayana was rushing to his native place to attend the final rites of his mother. According to police, the accident took place as the cab driver dozed off on the wheel while driving at high speed on the busiest National High in the state. Satyanarayana’s mother died of cardiac arrest on Sunday. Upon receiving the news of demise of his mother, Satyanarayana booked a Ola cab from his residence at RTC crossroads in Hyderabad to Siddantam.
According to M Vijay Prakash, Rural SI, Kodad, the accident took place around 4.30 am on Monday at Komarabad crossroads.” The vehicle was travelling at high speed and the driver had possibly dozed off on the wheel which caused the vehicle hit the truck on rear. The driver escaped with minor injuries as he was wearing the seat belt. All the deceased were not wearing the seat belt,” the SI told media. Satyanarayana was the student of SRKR Engineering Colleges, Bhimvarama. He got selected to Broadbridge in campus recruitment later moved to Infosys in Bengaluru. He was transferred to Hyderabad after his marriage 13 months ago.
