KCR’s front will be irrelevant, TRS losing steam: Uttam

Nizamabad, March 5: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the proposed third front of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao would remain a non-starter as the Congress party was all set to win the next elections both in the State and at the national level.

“KCR will not have any relevance as TRS will not win a single Lok Sabha seat in next elections,” the TPCC Chief said while addressing a press conference in Nizamabad on Monday before starting for Armoor as part of Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra which entered fifth day today.

Later, addressing a massive public meeting at Nandipet of Armoor constituency, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR’s sudden announcement of his entry into national politics was nothing but an attempt to escape questioning on the failures of TRS Government during the last four years. “A Chief Minister who never went to the Secretariat is now dreaming to become a national leader. A person who is responsible for suicide of over 4,000 farmers in Telangana wants to make policies on agriculture at the national level. This is totally ridiculous and highly condemnable,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy reiterated that the Congress party would win at least 70 seats if elections are held now. He said that another survey conducted by the Chief Minister himself has given 100 seats to Congress and 10 to TRS. However, KCR only swapped the parties and presented bogus figures.

Commenting on the results of Assembly elections in North Eastern States, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress has won the biggest State Meghalaya. In other States, it has been a tradition that the party in power at Delhi had won the Assembly elections. Therefore, there was nothing significant about BJP’s victory.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR had completed almost four years in power and he must have reviewed and debated whether his government has ensured welfare of SC, ST, BC and minority communities, women, farmers, students and youth. Instead of facing tough questions on his performance, KCR is trying to divert attention by triggering a talk on Federal Front. He said that the Chief Minister needs to explain which his government did not spend even five rupees to procurement of agriculture produce despite having a cumulative budget allocations of nearly Rs. 5 crore during the last four years. He said before constituting Federal Front, KCR should explain why Tribals farmers of Khammam were chained and hand-cuffed when they only asked for remunerative price for their chilli crops.

The TPCC chief described KCR’s announcement as a new drama which he is enacting to escape from public anger on his failures. He said that crowd mobilised at Pragathi Bhavan were not common people, but only TRS workers. Strangely, he said that third front idea is being supported by MIM President Asadudddin Owaisi who had openly opposed Telangana. Similarly, he said Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has not credibility as it is not known whether his vote is registered in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. He asked people to be cautious as KCR is known for enacting dramas on every occasion.

Uttam Kumar Reddy Chief also slammed a section of media for creating hype around KCR’s announcement. He said the mainstream media was not giving equal space to incidents of farmers’ suicides or other failures of TRS Government. He said that the Chief Minister wants to run away from being interrogated by youth for not giving them promised jobs. He said KCR worked only for the welfare of his family and gave prominent positions to his relatives.

The meeting was also addressed by Congress senior leaders including V. Hanumantha Rao, Shabbir Ali, K.R. Suresh Reddy, Akula Lalitha, Taher Bin Hamdan and others.
