AP DG Feels Heat Over Data Theft Case, Demolishes Illegal Wall

The tension between the Andra Pradesh and Telangana governments has forced the AP DGP RP Thakur to demolish the compound wall raised deviating from the permitted plan of his house in Hyderabad.

Thakur constructed the compound wall in his Prashasan Nagar Plot in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad which was ojbected to by authorities of GHMC.


Demolition on was carried on Tuesday by the workers the AP DGP employed while the authorities of GHMC supervised it.

Even though the DGP had secured status quo orders from High Court on Tuesday upon being  third notice by GHMC Monday, the demolition of wall, raised encroaching upon a park, took place as it would lead to political controversy given the data theft cases booked against an Hyderabadi firm working for AP government.

Data theft cases has been book against the firm, IT Grids India, upon a whistleblower spilled beans that IT Grids India, a private company, has stolen the data of voters of Andhra Pradesh.

This led to the charges and counter charges between the two governments creating an unpleasant situation between the two neighbouring states.

The arrival of an AP police team in Hyderabad to question the whistleblower, T Lokeswara Reddy, has furhter aggravated the situation as it has been seen as interference in the affairs of another state police.

This is the backdrop against which AP DGP resorted to demolition of the compound wall of his house in Hyderabad.
