Uttam to Continue as Chief of TPCC

(Prashanth Reddy)

AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Ramachandra Khunita said N Uttam Kumar Reddy will continue as TPCC chief and the party will go for Municipal Election under his leadership.

Amid the speculation of change of guard in the state, Khuntia addressed a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan today.

The AICC representative made it amply clear that the high command was not contemplating relieving Uttam of his responsibilities as of now.

Taking a dig at party Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, Khuntia said disciplinary action would be initiated against him.

He disapproved of the remarks made by Rajagopal Reddy and asked him to recall the opportunities the party had provided to him and his family members before attacking the Congress leadership.

He revealed that the TPCC executive meeting would be held at Nagarjuna Sagar on June 29.

As per the new strategy of the party, he said, meetings at district and block level would also be conducted in the first week of every month.

A meeting of ZPTC and MPTC scheduled in the first week of July to discuss the organization matters.

He said the Telangana Committee had passed a resolution appreciating great work one by Rahul Gandhi ever since he assumed office as party president. The leadership of the state urged Rahul to continue to lead the party as the president.
He said the party was mulling implementing 34 percent quota for OBCs in the Municipal elections.

Khunita slammed the defector-MLAs for their unfair comments on the leadership. “If you were not happy with the efficiency of the party leadership, you should have declined the party ticked and contested the elections as independent candidates,” he said.
