IT Raids, TDP MP’s Hyderabad Residence Again Hits the Headlines

Income Tax officials knocked the doors of the luxurious property of CM Ramesh, Rajya Sabha member, TDP, located at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.

One of the most controversial leader from TDP, Ramesh is a close aide of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. He is a member of Naidu’s team of  backroom operators. But, he is strongly opposed in his home district, Kadapa, where party veteran N Varadarajulu Reddy vowed not to allow  Ramesh poke his nose into the affairs of Proddutur. A war is raging in Kadapa district TDP between Ramesh and the faction led by Varadarajulu Reddy.

IT officials raided his house and office premises at various locations this morning but the TDP cried foul. Party general secretary Nara Lokesh dubbed the raid as the assault on Andhras.

Rated as one of the  ultra modern residential premises in India, the bungalow is a four-level structure spread over 40,000 square foot  with a 25-foot floor to ceiling  height. Sometime back HuffingtonPost shown how luxurious the building is to the world.

As many as 100 tax officials have  raided multiple locations including residence and office of  Rithwik, a company owned by  Ramesh’s relative. The firm, Rithwik Industries, is said to have a turnover of close to Rs. 1,000 crore according to NDTV

CM Ramesh is the chairman of all-powerful Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of parliament, He was the nominee of all anti-BJP opposition, parties including Congress, in Parliament.

The Telugu Desam Party has alleged that the raids were indictive and the party leader had become target of IT and ED  raids after the party broke away from Prime Minister Modi led NDA government at the centre.

A team of 15 IT official raided his residence at Potaldurthi village near Kadapa. The team which arrived early this morning asked his brother to vacate the place before raiding, sources said.
